2022 Hilton Distinguished Collaboration Award Winner:
Peter Schoenfield, Lake County
Peter has consistently been an active member of ILGISA through presenting and committee work. Most recently Peter has played an integral part in the migration of the State of Illinois 911 system to the Next Gen 911 model. The project would not be at the point it is without his massive contributions to the design, development, and testing of the system. The amount of personal time Peter has volunteered to this project is above and beyond and should be thoroughly recognized.

2022 Outstanding Student Award Winner:
Rachel Cantin, Illinois State University
Rachel pursued a GIS internship with the City of Naperville during Summer 2022 where she excelled. Her journals to the internship coordinator at Illinois State University were always positive and forward looking, and showed a level of maturity that all faculty have come to expect from Rachel. She learned a number of new GIS skills, and, more importantly, how such skills are employed in real-world situations. As her internship came to an end, her on-site supervisors commented on the “fantastic job” she did on tasks assigned, her excellent communication, her reliability, and her “terrific attitude [while] at work.” They mentioned how confident they are that she will be a strong asset wherever she is hired in her future career. Undoubtedly, Rachel has a great career in GIS ahead of her.
